Sad Goodbyes to our New Zealand Volunteers
Sadly we say goodbye to 36 international volunteers who have spent the last 12 months experiencing the Kiwi culture and working with some amazing community, education and conservation projects across New Zealand. These volunteers have been great ambassadors for their countries, have had exciting adventures and forged many lasting friendships.

We would like to give a special mention to our volunteers in Christchurch who, along with their fellow Cantabrians, have been through three major earthquakes and had to deal with the stress of living with numerous aftershocks. Their resilience, positivity, strength of character and firm resolution to stay and support the ACVE projects and the people of Christchurch is greatly appreciated by project staff and by ACVE.

A Warm Welcome
Kia Ora to our new international volunteer team!  It was great to welcome 36 volunteers from Iceland, Costa Rica, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Mexico, Finland and the USA.  ACVE had an amazing time running the group Orientation at Lakes Ranch in Rotorua from 31 July – 5 August.   Our international volunteer team has headed by bus, car and plane to their host projects across New Zealand and are currently enjoying adventures and inspiring volunteer projects, not to mention celebrating the All Blacks Rugby World Cup win!
